St.
Martin Wastewater Treatment Plant was completed in 2005 and treats a
wastewater flow of 69,000 m3/day from a population of 233,000 in
Plaines Wilhelms. The plant was funded by the European Union and the
Government of Mauritius. The Wastewater Management Authority (WMA) in
Mauritius are responsible for all matters relating to the collection,
treatment and disposal of wastewater. It operates as an autonomous
organisation under the aegis of the Ministry of Renewable Energy and
Public Utilities.
Since 1th of September 2008 Berlinwasser International AG (BWI) in
cooperation with Onsiong Brothers Co. Ltd. (OBL) has taken over the
Management and Operation and of the Wastewater Treatment Plant St
Martin in Beau Bassin / Mauritius from WMA for a period of 7 years. |
